For nearly eight years, Jess has been a cornerstone at Minnesota Lakes Bank, keeping operations running smoothly while juggling bookkeeping, accounts payable, and IT needs. But it’s not just her skills that stand out; it’s her creative mindset and infectious energy. Whether she’s planning Fun Committee events, troubleshooting tech issues, or organizing Halloween festivities, Jess does it all with a smile and spark.
Before joining MNLB, Jess explored a variety of roles, including retail and customer service, in-home healthcare, grocery stores, and even a call center at an eye clinic. She jokes that she rarely stayed in a job longer than two and a half years, but each experience helped shape the versatile skill set she brings to her role today.
Even with the challenges of reconciling off-ages and tracking down accounting errors, Jess continues to grow professionally. With MNLB’s support, she’s earned several industry certifications, including APRP, AAP, NCP, and the Faster Payments Professional Certificate. Yet for Jess, professional growth is only part of what makes her work fulfilling. What truly keeps her rooted here is the people.
Ask Jess what keeps her at MNLB, and she doesn’t hesitate, “The people.” From community parades to theme weeks at work, she thrives on making everyday moments special. She’s also fiercely competitive; just ask about her quest to become a MNLB four-time cornhole champ.
Outside of work, Jess is just as dynamic. She loves thrifting at the Goodwill bins, camping, crafting, and hosting board game nights. She has a soft spot for animals, including her cat, Fender Bender, who quite literally drove into her life after being found inside a car engine at the bank’s drive-through.
Jess is a proud mom of four and a grandma to an adorable two-year-old. Her youngest, Corbyn, loves crafting and baking, and has even taken up crocheting blankets herself, fully embracing her nickname as the family’s honorary grandma.
Jess embodies the spirit of Minnesota Lakes Bank. She is hardworking, creative, and deeply committed to the people and community around her. Her dedication leaves a mark on every project, every event, and every person she meets.
