When Brittany Bennis decided to transfer from Minnesota Lakes Bank’s Delano office to a new role at the Mound office, she knew her drive time would be bit longer.
“My husband and I bought a home in Montrose in November 2022, so the drive to work is a bit longer than it had been when I worked in Delano, but it’s very scenic and worth the extra time,” Brittany explained.
Brittany’s up-beat personality has been a good fit for the two roles she’s held at Minnesota Lakes Bank since she was hired in July 2021. Her first job was Concierge in the Delano office, a job that involved greeting customers on the phone or in person, directing calls, ordering supplies and helping out on the teller line.
“In that job, I was usually the first face customers would see when they walked in the door or the first voice they heard when they called,” she explained.
Earlier this fall Brittany had the opportunity to fill the role of Customer Service Representative in the Mound office.
“I’ve been at this since September, and I’m still learning, but the variety of duties makes it interesting and fun,” said Brittany. “I help customers open savings, checking, certificate of deposits, and health savings accounts. I follow up on overdrafts and requests for cashier’s checks, I prepare the daily OFAC compliance report and much more. I enjoy learning all the aspects of this job.”
“Kim Rostis, my supervisor, is very supportive, and since I’m the only CSR in Mound, I really appreciate her guidance. Katherine Roy, our credit analyst, has also been a big help as well,” she added.
When asked what she enjoys most about the work, Brittany was quick to answer. “I enjoy the interactions with people and getting to know them personally. The customers are great.”
Brittany graduated from Kimball Area High School in 2010. She has worked in customer service for over 12 years. After being married in 2014, she and her husband lived in Hutchinson and Cokato. They worked and saved for a few years to buy a house, so their Montrose home is the realization of a dream they’ve held for some time.
“We love living there,” Brittany continued. “I love spending time with my family and friends and doing anything outdoors, so we’re in a good spot for hiking and fishing. I’m a thrifter, too; I love going to thrift shops.”
Still new to her role at the bank, Brittany plans to take one day at a time. “Every day is different, and I love the variety.”
